MEHLVILLE, Mo. - Residents are concerned about what might creep into their backyards after a U-Haul property failed to maintain fencing that backs up right into theirs.Kathi Meyer has been a resident of Banister Drive for the past 22 years. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Boeing is Missouri’s largest manufacturer, and now the aerospace giant plans on expanding its footprint in St. Louis County.A plan to invest nearly $2 billion would create 500 jobs. Tax breaks related to the expansion would need to be approved.The future aerospace program has been dubbed Project Voyager. Boeing has already been in talks with St. Louis Lambert International Airport about expansion.A statement from St. Louis County Executive Sam Page reads:“This project will reinforce our dominance as a region that builds the future of aviation, creates pathways to exciting careers, and showcases the pride and talent of St. Louis County.”If the St. Louis County Council approves the deal, Boeing would receive tax breaks on the expansion that would amount to a 50% break on real and personal property tax for 10 years. An Army veteran was convicted Thursday of beating an elderly woman to death while she was walking in a Garden Grove neighborhood where they both lived.Michael Aon Varela, 36, was convicted of first-degree murder after a lengthy trial by an Orange County Superior Court jury of the “brutal attack, attempted rape and murder of 68-year-old Dzung Nguyen,” said Garden Grove police.The jurors also determined that the murder occurred during an attempted rape, according to court records.The murder took place on September 10, 2017, when officers responded to reports of a female down near 13432 Balos Drive around 5 a.m.Arriving officers found Nguyen on the front lawn of a home, partially naked and with blunt-force trauma to her face.Next to her, Varela was “found shirtless, covered in blood, with his pants fly unbuttoned and multiple injuries that appeared to be defense wounds on his body,” authorities said.The victim, Dzung Nguyen, 68, in an undated photo from the Garden Grove Police Departm...3 suspects arrested after stealing $300K worth of property

Three suspects were arrested on Thursday after stealing $300,000 worth of property during a burglary in San Antonio Heights. At approximately 12:55 a.m., deputies from the Fontana Sheriff's Station responded to reports of a burglary in progress in the San Antonio Heights community. The homeowner, who was on vacation, received a motion alert from his security cameras inside his residence indicating someone was inside, according to a news release from the Fontana Sheriff's Department. The cameras’ live feed showed the suspects ransacking the primary bedroom. When deputies arrived at the home, the suspects had already fled with the stolen property, including a large safe. At approximately 2:36 a.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Station received a report of suspicious people at an apartment complex in the 11600 block of Church Street, Rancho Cucamonga.
