Stocks fell on Wall Street as the pressure cranked higher from the bond market again. The S&P 500 lost 0.8% Thursday. The Dow fell 220 points, and the Nasdaq composite gave back 0.9%. Stocks had been higher earlier in the day, but the market quickly sagged under the weight of rising bond yields. DENVER (KDVR) — Gov. Jared Polis announced a special legislative session will be held following the failure of Proposition HH.Polis has been quiet since the proposition failed on election night. DENVER (KDVR) – A construction company is working with police in Wheat Ridge after someone stole a large engine and more.According to a post on the Wheat Ridge Police Department’s Facebook page, the engine is a Caterpillar C6.6 engine. Other attachments were also stolen and the total value of stolen equipment is more than $50,000.The thief is believed to have used a front loader from a nearby construction site during the theft as the stolen engine weighs over 1,000 pounds, according to the release and Caterpillar's product description.The theft happened on Oct. 16 around 2:30 a.m. Police say the suspect drove the loader from Qual Street and along Ridge Road in order to get to the business they were stealing from on Parfet Street. DELRAY BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) – A tragic collapse left one person dead at a construction site in Delray Beach.An excavator was being used to clear debris at a demolished home when it toppled on its side, right on top of a grapple truck, Thursday morning.A construction worker was on top of the truck and was operating the hook when he was pinned under the the arm of the excavator.He was killed in the accident.No other injuries were reported. A neighbor’s security camera captured the moment when a pricey sports car was stolen right out of the owner’s driveway in Miramar.The car theft happened Tuesday at around 4 a.m. at a home in the area of Southwest 136th Avenue and 41st Street.According to residents, the thief or thieves knew exactly what they were after as they broke passed the gate, disabled security cameras and ignored a Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Benz before stealing a Nissan GT-R worth around $150,000. “He broke the actual manual box that we had here, and he came and took our GT-R NISMO,” said Mahek Habib, the vehicle’s owner. “It’s a special edition sports car. A Sweetwater man credited his neighbors with saving his life after, he said, they warned him that his house was on fire.Dramatic doorbell surveillance video captured a woman as she frantically shouted for Rigoberto Rio and the other occupants to get out of their house.She was alerting Rio about the massive fire that had sparked overnight Sunday at his home near Southwest Seventh Street and 113th Avenue.Speaking with 7News on Thursday through a translator, Rio said his next-door neighbors woke him up at around 4:15 a.m.“They nearly knocked down my door, and then we ran outside,” he said.Rio said he was celebrating his birthday the night before the fire.Fire officials said a power line near the home sparked the flames.“I’ll move forward because there is no other choice,” said Rio.Rio said the Red Cross has helped him.Cellphone video captured some of the damage inside the home.Rio said the people he really wants to say thank you to are his neighbors.“...Latest news
