DENVER (KDVR) — Denver police were investigating a shooting that took place early Tuesday morning in the Montbello neighborhood.Police were at 48th Avenue and Tulsa Court, north of the Montbello Civic Center Park. Officers have the road blocked and crime scene investigators were going over a white Toyota sedan for evidence.Police were also investigating a scene at The Villages Apartments, just down the block at Tulsa Court and Albrook Drive. Man killed by police in Denver was carrying a marker Investigators have placed several evidence markers along the sidewalk connecting the two locations. Denver Police said one person was shot and transported to the hospital. DENVER (KDVR) — Denver International Airport and the City of Denver are looking to make several improvements to Peña Boulevard as the airport anticipates seeing 100 million passengers annually over the next 10 years.Peña Boulevard is the only road in and out of the airport, and it's so important things are running smoothly so those looking to catch their flights make it on time.Keep in mind, this road was built back in 1995. DIA now says the road does not meet current design standards. Peña Boulevard is just a little over 11 miles long. The road also connects to multiple Denver neighborhoods including Montbello, Green Valley Ranch and Gateway. A side street in the center of Newton was closed to traffic after a large tree came down Tuesday morning, blocking the road after crashing into a nearby driveway.Power was cut for several homes after the tree fell across Beaumont Avenue and took down multiple power lines as well as a telephone pole in the process.The Newton Fire Department was called to the area sometime before 10 a.m. to survey the scene. (CNN) — A man accused of kidnapping a woman and holding her in a cinder block “dungeon” in his Oregon home has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping and transportation with intent to engage in sexual activity, court documents show.Negasi Zuberi, 29, was ordered during a hearing Monday to remain in custody until his trial, which is scheduled for October 17, the documents show.Zuberi was taken into federal custody after a woman escaped from his Klamath Falls home last month, according to a news release from the FBI field office in Portland. The woman was kidnapped from Seattle and sexually assaulted before being placed in a “makeshift cell” in Zuberi’s garage, investigators said.Following Zuberi’s arrest, the FBI said it was looking for additional victims in other states.Zuberi has lived in at least 10 states since 2016 and has been linked to violent assaults in at least four, according to the FBI.
