Albany man arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana and gun charges ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany man accused of driving high while in possession of a loaded handgun was arrested early on Thursday morning. Dave Byrd, 27, was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree, and one count of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. Police say investigations began after reports of a person in possession of a weapon in the area of Dana Avenue and Lark Street. Officers observed a vehicle matching the description and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Washington Avenue and Robin Street.The driver, Byrd, appeared to be under the influence of marijuana. Police also located a loaded 9mm handgun. Byrd was arrested and arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.

Last week, the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program (APIPP) reported a confirmed case of beech leaf disease in the area of Edgecomb Pond. It's the first case of the disease in Warren County. 16-year-old charged in downtown St. Louis mass shooting ST. LOUIS - A 16-year-old is in custody in connection with a mass shooting in downtown St. Louis that left one teenager dead and 11 other people injured.The shooting took place just before 1 a.m. on June 19, at a party on the fifth floor of an office building near Washington Avenue and 14th Street. Investigators with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said the event was organized on social media.Eleven teenagers between the ages of 15 and 19 were shot. One of the victims, 17-year-old Makao Moore, died. LOUIS – Richard Sprengeler, a fine art and commercial photographer, took pictures of the ghostly remains of American sculptor Bob Cassilly's last work, Cementland. Sprengeler's pictures are on display at the main branch of the Central Library in Downtown St. Louis.He said that he stumbled upon the site after meeting a drone photographer on Laclede’s Landing, who provided him with information about the entrance to Cementland. Sprengeler said he had a passion for capturing urban decay and architectural marvels.
