There were 14 innings of baseball played at CHS Field on Sunday, with the Saints splitting a doubleheader with the Nashville Sounds, but the most compelling events took place outside the white lines. The original lineup handed out for Game 2 had outfielder Trevor Larnach, sent down to the Saints by the Twins on Saturday, hitting third as the designated hitter in Game 2. He was not in the lineup when the game started and wasn’t even at the ballpark.Players have 72 hours to report after being sent down, and Larnach has elected to use that time. Saints manager Toby Gardenhire said he expects Larnach to be available when the Saints open another series at home on Tuesday.“He was playing pretty good up there,” Gardenhire said, “so maybe a little disappointed. But it’s all part of it.”In addition, Saints outfielder Matt Wallner sat out both games.
