Austin Disaster Relief Network lays off portion of staff AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Disaster Relief Network laid off a portion of its staff due to "a lack of funding," the nonprofit organization said."We needed to eliminate positions in order to be good stewards of the funds donated to us for disaster response," a spokesperson told KXAN. The staff reductions started on March 30.ADRN said it is "restructuring internally," laying off 24 employees and two contractors — about 40% of its staff. ADRN had 59 people and three contractors before the layoffs.ADRN is a disaster-relief, volunteer network made up of more than 200 Austin-area churches.

Watervliet woman sentenced for attacking son ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Watervliet mother who was accused of severely injuring her 10-month-old son was sentenced on Tuesday. Samantha Valentine will serve seven years in prison.She was sentenced in Albany County Court after reaching a plea agreement. Prosecutors said she assaulted her baby multiple times over a four-day period in October 2021. She was charged with attempted murder. Prosecutors said he has recovered thanks in part to a responding police officer who performed lifesaving efforts until EMS arrived.

Albany police seek public's help catching trespassers (KRON) -- The Albany Police Department is asking for the public's help as it tries to find two people that trespassed in a residential yard. One of the suspects appeared to be carrying a rifle. Their intentions are unknown and they never made contact with the resident. SF police searching for missing, at-risk man The first suspect was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. The second suspect was described as a Black man, about 20-25 years old, wearing a black hoodie with gray camouflage font, black pants and black shoes. He was carrying what looks like a rifle.Albany police are asking for anyone with video of the suspects to come forward. Anyone with video or anyone who witnessed anyone suspicious nearby on Sunday night to call APD at (510) 525-7300.
