WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – Late Justice Sandra Day O’Connor is lying in repose in the Great Hall of the Supreme Court on Monday. O’Connor was the first woman to serve on the nation’s highest court. She died on Dec. 1 at the age of 93.Her casket was carried up the steps in front of the court on Monday morning. CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WXIN) – Eric Montross, an Indiana prep hoops star who played under legendary head coach Dean Smith at North Carolina before an eight-year NBA career, has died.The University of North Carolina, citing Montross’ family, said he passed away Sunday while surrounded by loved ones at his home in Chapel Hill. He was 52 years old.Montross was diagnosed with cancer in March 2023.Montross was a McDonald’s All-American who played at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis. BURNET, Texas (KXAN) — The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a small plane crash in Burnet over the weekend. A single-engine Beechcraft B36 struck a powerline and then crashed onto U.S. Highway 281 in Burnet around 3:15 p.m. Sunday, according to the FAA. Two people were on board the plane and had serious injuries, according to the FAA crash report. The report stated the plane crashed shortly after takeoff and struck a powerline and a vehicle on the highway. WYNANTSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Flooding in Wynantskill is causing some roads to close. According to the North Greenbush Police Department, Brookside Ave between Whiteview Rd and Hidley Rd Ext is closed. Parts of Main Ave have some standing water on it but cars can get around at this time. The Police said the Wynants Kill has risen above the retaining walls and may continue to rise. Recalled applesauce pouches that left many children sick with lead poisoning may have been tainted on purpose, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Jim Jones, FDA deputy commissioner for Human Foods, said the investigation is still ongoing, but signs point to an intentional act to poison the puree. “We’re still in the midst of our investigation," Jones said in an interview with Politico. "But so far, all of the signals we’re getting lead to an intentional act on the part of someone in the supply chain and we’re trying to sort of figure that out."Three recalled applesauce products may have been deliberately tainted with lead, according to an FDA official.
