ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A teenager was sent to the hospital after he was hit by a car in Albany on Thursday. CHESTER, Ill. - The remains of a Chester, Illinois, native killed in combat during World War II will be interred in his hometown next month.U.S. Army Air Forces Tech Sgt. James Howie was a radio operator assigned to the 345th Bombardment Squadron (Heavy), 98th Bombardment Group (Heavy), 9th Air Force. According to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, Howie was serving aboard a B-24 bomber on Aug. 1, 1943, on a mission to destroy oil fields and refineries at Ploiesti, in Nazi-controlled Romania. Howie's plane was struck by enemy anti-aircraft fire and went down.Howie was 24. His remains could not be identified following the war.Unidentified remains were then buried as unknowns in the Hero Section of the Civilian and Military Cemetery of Bolovan, Ploiesti, Prahova, Romania.In the aftermath of World War II, the American Graves Registration Command disinterred the remains from the cemetery, so they could be identified. TANEY COUNTY, Mo. - An elderly man died Thursday afternoon on Table Rock Lake after being ejected from the boat he was piloting.According to a crash report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 1:30 p.m. at Martin's Point.Investigators said Thomas Crain, of Chadwick, was piloting a 1998 Tracker bass boat when he lost control and was tossed from the craft. LOUIS – For the past three decades, Ameren Missouri and Forest ReLeaf of Missouri have been educating the community for on proper landscaping around and under power lines.Nick Henderson, head of vegetation management at Ameren Missouri, said they maintain 4,200-line miles a year, which is several hundred thousand trees trimmed annually. He wants their customers to be aware of utilities when looking to plant trees.“Overhead line facilities, power poles, underground transformers, pad mount transformers, and things like that is, really, what we want to try to educate people on,” Henderson said. “Being aware of those utilities and not putting trees that are incompatible with them.”Planting incompatible trees leads to issues with grid reliability, especially when storms roll through, and can also be dangerous.“What we want to have our customers avoid is putting a tree that’s going to get up into the facilities. A deputy with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office was arrested Thursday on investigation of menacing and first-degree official misconduct.Daniel Garcia, who has been with the sheriff’s office since 2013, was arrested by the Colorado Springs Police Department and booked into the El Paso County Jail.
