Watertown police are turning to the public for help as they work to identify a suspect in an attempted break-in caught on camera.Markus Arnold, who lives in the home on Laurel Street, said the video shows the man trying several times to gain access to the home.He said a foreign exchange student who is staying with him for a semester sounded the alarm.“She came home late from an event and thought maybe this person follower her home,” he said. “I think she was a little shaken.” Anyone with information about the person in the video is asked to call Watertown Police Det. An avalanche on Mount Washington left a New Hampshire skier with a life-threatening lower leg injury on Saturday, according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.Bow resident Dominic Torro was skiing with a friend and another unrelated skier in the Great Gulf or “Airplane Gully” on Saturday, officials said, when Torro triggered an avalanche. Torro’s friend and the other skier skied to his aid and called 911.The 911 call, according to officials, was first relayed to the U.S. Forest Service Snow Rangers, though the incident was outside of the Rangers’ direct jurisdiction. The call was then relayed to the Fish and Game conservation officers.Officials said the conservation officer who took the call spoke with a snow ranger and collaborated to on a rescue plan. Santa landed in Boston Sunday afternoon weeks ahead of Christmas — helicoptering down into the North End Christmas Parade.“Hello children! SAN DIEGO -- A crowd of hundreds quickly formed as word spread of a whale that had washed ashore on Pacific Beach early Sunday morning.“We thought it was a tarp from out in the water, but eventually we realized it was a whale and I’ve never seen anything like it," said surfer Nick Hennis.“I’ve lived here for 7 years, and I’ve never seen a whale on the beach before," said surfer Ben Pallas.At around 8 a.m. Sunday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said it received calls regarding the beached whale. “We did an examination of the whale externally to look for signs of human interaction," said research biologist, Kerri Danil with NOAA.
