Dozens of protesters calling for a ceasefire in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Gaza blocked a portion of the 110 Freeway near downtown Los Angeles Wednesday morning. Sky5 was over the scene near 3rd Street around 9:30 a.m., where protesters holding signs stood and sat on the freeway, blocking all southbound traffic. A group called IfNotNow, which described itself as a movement of American Jews supporting the end of U.S. support for Israel's war on Gaza, claimed responsibility for the protest."As Jews, we cannot sit by as the people of Gaza are starved and slaughtered our name. And as Americans, we can't let Biden & Congress send billions more in funding for Israeli war crimes. A juvenile suspected of carjacking a woman in Upland and then being involved in a hit-and-run crash was arrested Tuesday night, police said. The carjacking took place on Dec. 7 at a convenience store in the 400 block of South Campus Avenue, the Upland Police Department posted on X, formerly Twitter.The woman was approached by the suspect as she exited the business. He asked for food or money but then grabbed the victim's keys and stole her vehicle when she went to hand him some change, police said. The vehicle was then involved in a hit-and-run crash in Ontario and later abandoned. Investigators identified the suspect as a 17-year-old Upland resident. Pedestrian Crash near 56th Street Kills 24-Year-Old ManJURUPA VALLEY, CA (December 13, 2023) – Saturday night, a hit-and-run collision on Van Buren Boulevard took the life of Emilio Jimenez.The deadly crash happened around 10:51 p.m. in the area of Van Buren Boulevard, just north of 56th Street.According to the deputies, a vehicle in the southbound lanes hit the male pedestrian for unknown reasons.
